Howard's birthplace is Knoxville, Tennessee...just about 4 hours east of Music City. By the time he was 6, Shreveport was "home" and has been ever since. Many mornings, he'd wake up to the sound of country music coming from his parents' clock radio and the singular salutation of "Hello world, doggone ya!", recorded by KWKH original licensee W.K.
