On Air
Danny Fox
I was born and raised in Phenix City, Alabama. Yes the spelling is correct; they just spell it wrong in Arizona. Phenix City is right across the Chattahoochee River from Columbus, Georgia.
I joined KWKH in April of 1990, it was owned by Mike Oatman and Mike Lynch of Great Empire Broadcasting then.
While here at KWKH I’ve had the honor of working beside Frank Page, Barney Cannon, Larry Scott, Marty Sullivan and others in the Country Radio Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
KADO Program Director, Fabienne Thrash hired me and gave me a chance at radio in 1981. KADO-940 was a small 1000 watt AM station in Texarkana, Texas. We bumped into each other twelve years later here at KWKH and did the “Fabienne and the Fox” morning show back in 1993.
While in Texarkana, I also worked at KOSY, another 1000 watt AM station. It was a lot of fun sharing time on the morning show there with the very famous Uncle Dudley.
I’ve been married to my wife, Kathleen since 1979 and we have one son named Sean Dewayne, born in 1982. He attended Louisiana Tech in Ruston, studied computer programming and played trumpet in the band.
I’m also a musician and have been playing music since the age of 14. I play bass guitar with a local band called The Red River Live Band. We play at various places in Shreveport-Bossier including the V.F.W. on Jeter St. in Bossier City, The Bossier Council On Aging, The Council On Aging in Coushatta, La., and The Moose Lodge on Industrial Loop in Shreveport.
